AHS Field Technician

Modular Mining Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Komatsu, is the global leader in providing solution based real-time systems to the mining industry.   Due to the expansion of Modular’s Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) business, we have an immediate need for several AHS Field Technicians to be based in Perth, Australia. Modular, in collaboration with Komatsu, offer the World’s first commercially available autonomous truck and fleet solution. The AHS product is at the forefront of mining technology as one of the most cost effective solutions for fleet management, delivering unrivalled safety and fleet optimization in complex mining environments without the requirement of a truck operator.  Modular currently supports two successful AHS operations in Chile and Australia moving to date over 150 million tons autonomously, demonstrating Modular's ability to deliver high value, cutting edge solutions.

Reporting to the AHS Operations Supervisor, this role is responsible for maintaining hardware infrastructure, performing hardware installations of the AHS system, optimizing available resources, and minimizing costs while maintaining quality standards
 

You will be qualified with a Min Cert 4 in Electro Technology or Electrical/Electronic trade certificate plus the following skills and experience:

Mining Operations – 2 years
Electro technology, RF communications, IT, electronic repairs, mechanical aptitude
Computer and programming skills – 2 years
Database skills - competent
Deep understanding of radio communications
Deep understanding of field hardware
Proficient spoken and written English required

The position will be Fly-In–Fly-Out (FIFO) from Perth with duties performed in the Pilbara region, Western Australia with on a roster schedule to be negotiated.
