Albian Sands' Muskeg River Mine Chooses IntelliMine® System Tucson, Arizona – October 28, 2002 Albian Sands Energy, Inc. has selected Modular Mining's IntelliMine® mine management system to maximize productivity at its new Muskeg River Mine operation, located 75 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. The IntelliMine® system selected by Albian consists of MasterLink™, the wireless network communications backbone; ProVision™, the high-precision GPS system for dozers and shovels; and DISPATCH®, the industry standard dispatching system designed to provide automatic, optimized haul truck assignments. Albian will deploy the system on a variety of equipment at the Muskeg River Mine including: 39 trucks, 7 dozers, 7 shovels, and 9 pieces of auxiliary equipment. Installation is underway with start-up anticipated late October 2002. Muskeg is the world's third major oil sands mine, and expects to recover 1.65 billion barrels of bitumen, at the rate of 155,000 barrels per day, over the next 30 years.
