NALCO Chooses IntelliMine® System Tucson, Arizona – March 02, 2004 Modular Mining Systems, the world leader in computer-based solutions for maximizing mine productivity, has received an order from the National Aluminium Company of India Ltd (NALCO) to provide dispatching and reporting at its Panchpatmali open pit bauxite mine. The IntelliMine® system selected by NALCO includes: the DISPATCH® system to provide automatic, optimized haul truck assignments, integrate the entire mining process, and improve mine productivity; and the PowerView™ reporting package, an SQL system that can be used to create virtually any type of Windows®-based report on load, haul, or dump operations. The combination of these two IntelliMine® modules is expected to improve mine productivity by 10% and will allow for further expansion as the mine grows. "This is Modular's first installation in India," noted Eric Davidson, General Manager for Modular Australia. The Panchpatmali mine, located at Damanjodi, approximately 350 kilometers southwest of Bhubaneshwar, India, will employ the system throughout its operation on a variety of equipment including: 14 trucks, 10 loading units, and 1 crusher. Installation is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2004.
