The MasterLink^® system—now at 11 Mbps—incorporates Cisco^® access point technology into the development and manufacture of the MasterLink^® communications backbone to deliver the fastest high quality, low-maintenance communications possible for open pit mining.

The 11 Mbps network, known as the MasterLink^® 11 system, significantly increases transmission rates with an overall performance increase of 50-200 times over 9600-baud systems and 10-50 times faster than 900 MHz systems. This reduces data telemetry congestion in mines with large equipment fleets and enables data-intensive use for graphics, equipment-health diagnostics, equipment location monitoring, high-precision GPS applications—even emerging autonomous truck systems. Mines can now take advantage of the latest mine productivity tools available, and maintain vital communications links between decision makers and the equipment they monitor and control.

Additionally, MasterLink^® wireless networks are self-configuring; as access points are added or relocated, the network automatically reconfigures to ensure communication and coverage are not interrupted.
